Emergency lighting and running man signs play an integral part in fire safety evacuation in tandem with fire alarms. In the event of a fire or power outage the emergency lighting system will activate on its own self contained battery system illuminating the fire exits for three hours as a minimum as required by BS5266.
Emergency lights are required by law to be installed in all commercial buildings and houses of multiple occupancy designed with the capability of illuminating all fire exits and escape routes.
Traditionally there are two different types of emergency lights that are installed:
NM-3 Non-Maintained: Emergency light which only illuminates on loss of power to the circuit. 3 Hour duration.
M-3 Maintained: Dual use normal switched light source and illumination on loss of power to the circuit. Emergency use of 3 hours.
Brighton Fire Alarms can offer the complete design, installation, certification & commissioning of all emergency lighting systems to the highest standard and most competitive prices.
